Fall Beauty Trends: Love Your Look With Benefit
Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow/Liner ($22 CAD): I am loving these shadows! As soon as I received them, I stashed these right into my makeup kit. These shadows really stay put and never crease. They apply ultra-creamy but then set to a nice powder finish. They are easy to blend and can be layered for a deeper finish.
Top - Bottom: Recess (peachy-beige pearl) and Honey Bunny (terracotta nude) are perfect neutrals for this season's deep hued lips. Swipe from lid to brow bone and flirt up the eyes with some black liner. I also love using these shades as a shadow primer or base. Gossip (silvery plum) adds a dash of colour and brightens up those peepers.
Full-Finish Lipstick ($21 CAD): It's time to stop being shy and go for full coloured lips! These extra smooth, creamy lipsticks glide right onto the lips. They also give your lips a sexy shine. Unfortunately, these lippies aren't kiss-proof but even after eating or smooching, the colour leaves behind a nice stain.
Flirt Alert (candy apple) makes your lips look extra juicy and super sexy! The shade is actually a lot brighter in person so if you want to get noticed swipe this on.
Sassy frass (boysenberry) is a gorgeous colour that would look great on any skin tone. It has a sexy shimmery finish.
Lady's Choice (naturally nude) are for those that prefer to put the focus on the eyes. Swipe on this lovely nude for everyday or to compliment sultry smoky eyes.

Find the right process for your skin and hair type |
Waxing, tweezing, lasering ... part-torture, part-godsend. But with so many choices, which method works best for you? Your skin tone, hair texture and pain threshold are all major factors we'll weed through to get your strategy set. Answer the following questions to find your ideal procedure. |
When it comes to hair removal I've done it all - except for real laser hair surgery. But I do count the no!no!, in-home laser hair removal which is actually starting to work for me!! I'm very excited to share my review of Week 4 - 6 with you so stay tuned!
Fall Beauty Trends: Marcelle Cosmetics Is Glitz, Glam, and Vintage
Vintage Lipstick, Hollywood Beige: This warm beige lipstick has a satiny finish. I was really surprised by the coverage. Swipe it on once and it gives your lips a sheer finish and apply another layer the effect is full coverage. There's no weird waxy smell either. This is a great neutral to compliment any look for this Fall.
Vintage Lipstick, Rouge Broadway: Wow - this one caught me by surprise! This brick red is deep and gorgeous. I applied directly from the tube then softened the edges with my finger for a stain effect. Layer more on for intensity and pure drama.
Blush Vintage Blush, Timeless Beige: The perfect neutral to compliment both lips. The colour actually reminds me of M.A.C.'s popular Prism blush. The formula goes on velvety and is long-lasting. I love the "M' design in the blush also. The clever thing about the packaging is that you can push in the compact and the mirror/lid pops up. When it's closed, just turn it around and touch up your makeup using the exposed part of the mirror! Convenient and oh-so-chic!
Vintage Face Powder: This translucent powder finishes your makeup and gives you a luminous finish. You still get that velvety matte finish and radiant glow in all the right places. When you open the case, a sponge is attached to it making application easy. The sponge is soft on the skin but I found it made my skin flake. I prefer using a powder brush. The lovely casing will dress up any vanity.
Available in drugstores across Canada.

Beauty Review: Persian Cold Wax
There are so many hair removal products on the market and I have tried most of them yet I keep coming back to Persian Cold Wax ($13.99 at most drugstores).
In a perfect world, women would have been born hairless but since the world isn’t perfect I’m loving Persian Cold Wax.
What’s your fave hair removal product?

See how celebrities like Madonna, Leighton Meester, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Lopez make curls the year's hottest trend |
As more and more celebrities embrace curls on the red carpet, it's become clear that this look is not just a passing trend. Whether long or short, naturally straight or not, everyone seems to be reaching for hot rollers and curling irons. Get inspiration to go curly by checking out these gorgeous celebrity photos. |
Until recently my hair has only been touched by straightners over the past 10 years. But I've been feeling the curly fever and I'm addicted. I feel sexier with lovely waves and don't know why it took me this long to jump on the band wagon. Straight hair will always be me, but for now my hair will be riding the waves!
Fall Beauty Trends: Smashbox Is Wicked Lovely
Wearing nudes never looked so lovely. There are 2 shadow duos to choose from. I got to try Wicked Lovely Eye Shadow Duo in Sexy/Demure ($24 USD), shimmery dark brown and shimmery ivory. I love basics and this is definitely one to have for everyday or to smoke it up at night. The texture is velvety and blends nicely onto the skin.
They can be very shimmery for day so I suggest applying the ivory shade in the inner corner and on the center of the lid. Wet a liner brush and line your eyes with the dark brown. Your eyes will look defined and luminous. For night, I used the dark brown shade on the lids and on the bottom lash line. I used the ivory on the brown bone and inner corner of the eyes. To smoke it out even more, I layered a matte dark brown into the crease. The results - wicked lovely.
Complete the look with a layer of Wicked Lovely Lip Gloss in Coy ($18 USD), a sheer nude. I've been a fan of Smashbox glosses and have quite a few. When you go nude, you don't want to go chalky. Coy is the perfect balance - gives the face a little bit of warmth yet is still subtle enough to compliment a smoky eye. You get a lot of colour from one swipe and a whole lot of sexy shine. It just hugs the lips and is ultra-moisturizing. Feelin' a little frisky? It comes complete with a naughty little tassle on the cap!

Beauty Review: Kat Von D
I haven't tried the lipsticks or lipglosses, but they look luscious!
Makeup 101: Faking A Good Night's Rest
Step 1: When I've had a really late night especially if alcohol has been involved, splashing some really cold water on my face and my eyes always seems to wake me up. My skin always looks fresh and less swollen. Tricks for red, dry eyes? Drop a little Visine to make the whites look brighter. Puffy bags? I sometimes like to put my eye cream in the fridge. The cooling effect soothes and helps calm the puffiness. If that doesn't work, I've heard tea bags or cold spoons on the bags works.
Step 2: Moisturize the eye area really good with your favourite eye cream. I haven't found THE one yet, so I'm not going to recommend one. I always find dry, flaking skin around the eyes makes you look tired. You want the skin around your eyes to look luminous.
Step 3: Use a creamy concealer to even out the skin tone around the eyes and to cover dark circles. When covering dark circles, only apply concealer where the discolouration is. I like to use my fingers because the product just melts into the skin, but sometimes you have to use a small concealer brush to really get in there. My concealer of choice right now is Benefit's Erase Paste ($26 USD). This little perk-me-up is a concentrated, creamy concealer that brightens and camouflages those dark circles and blemishes. A little goes a long way so build until you are satisfied with the coverage. The good thing is that it never looks cakey or heavy. After applying on your circles, go ahead and even out your skin around your nose and any blemish. This comes in 3 shades: Fair, Medium and Deep. If you have medium dark skin and are planning to use this on its own, go for Deep because the Medium seems too light. Those with darker skin will have to use underneath a foundation that matches your skin.
An extra step you can do is to set the concealer with powder. People with wrinkles tend to skip this but I've found that Benefit's Powderflage ($28 USD), a light-diffusing powder concealer for eyes and face is fine enough that it doesn't settle into the lines. Just sweep the light pink powder over your dark circles or fine lines with the "flager" brush that is included (looks like a fan) and like magic you'll look more youthful and awake! The set also includes a beauty lesson so you can disguise those circles like a pro!
Step 4: Highlighting key areas can make all the difference. It will brighten areas that can look rather dark. You can fake that awake look with Tarte Rest Assured Brightening Wand ($22 USD). This double-ended brightening wand has a nude-peach pencil on one side for lining the inner rim of your eye, making the whites of your eye brighter. On the other side is a shimmery pink highlighter that you can dab in the inner corner of the eyes, just a touch on the brow bone and a little on the cheekbones.
Those with med-dark to darker skin tones may prefer Anastasia's Eye Lights Shimmer ($21 USD). I LOVE this highlighter! This lovely iridescent beige pencil has made a nice little home in my makeup bag. Swipe it on the lids when you're in a hurry for a little glimmer or dab on the lips for some extra pout.
Step 5: Curl those lashes! Doing this will open up the eye even more. Swipe on a coloured mascara like Benefit's BADgal Plum Mascara ($19 USD). This plum shade will enhance any eye colour, taking the attention away from any other flaws you want to hide. I swiped this on yesterday and loved how my plain ol' brown eyes popped! My lashes looked so lush and full. I'm very particular with my mascara and very delighted that it never smudged. On its own the plum shade is a little more vibrant and over top of black mascara is more subtle. If you're a fan of the original BADgal mascara then you'll love this one for sure!
Step 6: A little colour never hurt nobody. When you don't get enough sleep, your skin looks a little paler. For me, it's a lot paler. With the help of some bronzer, looking sun-kissed makes you look healthier instantly. Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer ($28 USD) is a feather light mineral bronzer that contains ingredients like Vitamin A and E, which act as antioxidants to fight free radical damage and mineral pigments that are known for soothing and softening properities. Just swipe on the high points of the face. This pearly bronzer comes in handy when I need a healthy glow. And how luxe is the bronze case?? You'll love pulling this out of your purse for touch-ups!
Step 7: Gone are the days where women pinched their cheeks for a little rouge. Adding blush to the apples of the cheeks is the perfect perk-me-up. Rosy cheeks always makes you look a little healthier and a little happier. I LOVE Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush ($28 USD), a sheer berry. I actually used this yesterday morning after a very late night. The stain lasts all day, leaving you glowing and radiant. Dab on the cheeks and voila - the perfect flush. For a peach glow, try Tipsy a definite must-have.
Step 8: Finish faking a good night's rest with a swipe of gloss for some healthy shine. Too Faced Mirror Mirror Gloss in I Know You Want Me ($16 USD), is a clear gloss that has the sexiest dose of shine. Your lips look like glass and feel so smooth. These scented glosses are full of antioxidants that nourish and protect your lips. If you want a little more colour try I Love Myself!, a sheer pink. Don't you just love the names? These will give you a boost of confidence!
Now go fake a good night's rest! Or just go to bed! ;)
Fall Beauty Trends: Lise Watier Goes Les Cachemires
Shadow palettes packaged in adorable sequenced sweater pouches, are available in two looks: Blue Inspiration and Plum Inspiration.
Each palette contains 4 shades. Plum inspiration ($24 CAD) is a beautiful mix of plums, brown, and beige.
I love palettes because you can create all sort of different looks ranging from natural to dramatic. The soft violet shade really has a subtle shimmer and brightens up the eyes. It makes brown eyes pop even more. The bisque shade is perfect as a base or highlighting. The metallic brown is gorgeous any time of the day. The prune shade is lovely for lining the eyes or in the crease for definition and drama. The shadows wear well and don't crease. The textures are smooth and blend easily onto the skin. Perfect palette for Fall!
Play up those eyes with Metal Liner Lilas ($18 CAD). It's a fun lilac liner with sparkle. The thin little brush makes it easy to layer for more less or more colour. I prefer the brush to be a bit thicker and firmer but I was still able to line the eyes and wing it out.
My favourite of the collection and because I love lip products is the Plumpissimo Le Gloss Peche ($20 CAD). It's a fabulous shimmery peach perfect enough to complete any look. These glosses plump your lips without the irritating sting and glide on smoothly, never sticky. Also in the collection is a gorgeous lipstick, Rouge Gourmand Pecan Pie ($18 CAD). It is a shimmery lipstick in a beautiful warm tone. The texture is smooth and applies as a full colour. Lovely choice to compliment a plum palette.

Beauty Icon of the Month: Anne Hathaway - From Princess to Fashionista
Anne Hathaway is one of those girls who just never stood out in my mind especially when I thought of fashion forward beauties and beauty icons - that is until Devil Wear's Prada. Before then, all I could picture was an awkward girl next door made pretty. I guess I was watching too many re-runs of Princess Diaries.
Anne was in Toronto last week promoting her movie Rachel Getting Married, check out this post for more. She has been featured on the cover of many magazines, and this month she is on the cover of prestigious fashion mag W:
How fierce does she look? And where did those cheekbones come from??
I love how Anne can pull off fresh face beauty with her soft porcelain skin and charming dimples yet step into couture and she is a whole other woman.
She isn't our typical Beauty Icon, but her simple beauty is what makes her stand out from the crowd.Daily Total Beauty Bytes
